What is Ocean Drive
Ocean Drive — also called Ten Mile Drive — loops the southern tip of Aquidneck Island along Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic. The route passes mansion gates, public beaches, Brenton Point State Park, and the Newport Country Club. It is a National Historic Landmark district distinct from Bellevue Avenue's mansion row.
For cruise passengers, Ocean Drive is a scenic complement to mansions or Cliff Walk — best experienced by car, coach, or scenic tour rather than on foot.
